Christmas reflections

Nå tennes tusen julelys
det stråler rundt vår jord,
og himlens stjerner blinker ned
til liten og til stor.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

For a brief moment a dull afternoon, this wonderful sky appeared out of nowhere. No need
for Photoshop when reality is this good!

Undrer meg på hva jeg får å se
over de høye fjelle?
Øyet møter nok bare sne.
Rundt omkring står det grønne tre,
ville så gjerne over;-
tro, når det reiser vover?

Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson

Circle of life

When you were born, you cried
and the world rejoiced.
Live your life
so that when you die,
the world cries and you rejoice.

Tro ikke frosten som senker en fred av sne i ditt hår. Alltid er det på jorden et sted tidlig vår. Tro ikke mørket når lyset går ned i skumringens fang. Alltid er det på jorden et sted soloppgang.
